The Irish are back buying in Lanzarote!

The Irish are back buying apartments and villas in Lanzarote - but its been a while.

During the property boom of 2007, the Irish were having a great time.  Ireland went from a somewhat reserved nation previously to lavish parties, Christmas shopping in New York and using helicoptors to get to the golf club.  The investment in property was enormous with parents donating their bank balances to children so they could buy overpriced and poorly built apartments. All good things come to an end, and true to form, the bottom fell out.

With the worst economic crash in living memory, property collapsed, unemployment skyrocketed and all but the necessities were dropped. Eight years on, the last of the Celtic tiger helicopters is gone, but there has been a dramatic turn around in Ireland's economy.  With marked improvement in employment and the nation's mood, the holidays are back and so are the Irish in Lanzarote.

The beautiful island of Lanzarote has been long adored by the Irish who have been flying to the Canaries since the 80s. And now, with a bucket load of direct flights from Dublin and Cork with Ryanair and Aer Lingus, its never been easier to get to Lanzarote's glorious sun drenched beaches. The weather in Lanzarote towards the end of 2015 and so far in 2016 has been almost flawless. With constant rain for months in Ireland, the Irish are looking for properties in Lanzarote to escape the downpours.

Go for a swim on New Years day on the main beach in Puerto Del Carmen with warm summer sun and not so frigid waters, followed by a relaxing drink on the beach terrace watching the setting sun. No better way to start the year.
